NOVACAP Expands With New Additions In Montreal And Toronto

LONGUEUIL, Quebec, November 18, 2016NOVACAP, one of Canada’s leading private equity firms, is pleased to announce the recent addition of five investment professionals to its team.

  • Étienne Antoine Veilleux joins as Senior Partner
  • David Brassard joins as Vice President

Étienne A. Veilleux joined the Technology, Media and Telecommunications ("TMT") team as Senior Partner last September. Étienne has spent most of his career in the Building Automation and Energy Management business. He sold the company he founded, Distech Controls, in 2015. Étienne led Distech Controls’ outstanding organic growth and achieved many strategic acquisitions. His company has received numerous awards, including Canada’s Best Managed Companies, PROFIT500, the National Bank SME award and the Grand Prix québécois de la qualité awarded by the Quebec government (2015).

David Brassard joined NOVACAP TMT as Vice President on October 17. Previously, David was Senior Associate at Persistence Capital Partners ("PCP"), a private equity fund focused on the healthcare industry. At PCP, David was responsible for the evaluation and due diligence of new investment opportunities, the execution of transactions, as well as bringing strategic support to portfolio companies and their management team. Prior to PCP, David was an Assistant Vice President at PwC, where he spent five years in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Audit teams.

Jamie Cartwright joined NOVACAP Industries in Toronto as Vice President on October 24. Previously, Jamie worked at The Stronach Group as Executive Vice President, Corporate Operations, where he was responsible for the management and operations of a diverse portfolio of companies located throughout North America. Prior to that, Jamie was Vice President, Corporate Advisory and Restructuring at PwC. He led large and complex restructuring engagements involving operational restructuring, refinancing and recapitalization of debt and equity, as well as negotiations with creditors, banks and investors. The arrival of Jamie brings to seven the number of investment professionals in Toronto.

NOVACAP also hired two new Analysts in Montreal. Jason Dacosta joined the TMT team and Zachary Zheng joined the Industries team.
