Working together with the VP Operations and other parties (ex. : Deal Team, Finance Team, Portfolio Companies CFO’s team and Technology supplier) to identify, recommend, implement and maintain the adequate reporting framework and BI and technology practices that will support the growth of Novacap, over existing and future investment portfolio.

Job description summary :

  • Assist and coordinate monthly monitoring of portfolio company performance through data collection and analysis, using state-of-the-art software (iLevel).

  • Lead special projects, including deployment of monitoring framework & software over new acquisitions in collaboration with deal team and portfolio company’s management team.

  • Maintain iLevel system for your assigned companies and ensure quality control on data input and output.

  • Data, system and process guardian of source data quality, robust and insightful portfolio analysis, and seamless dissemination to all stakeholders.

  • Own the full set of automated iLevel input & output templates – helping implement tweaks and changes over time via collaboration with Deal & Corporate Finance teams.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has a passion for financial data with an eye towards building out processes that will allow us to improve activities through which we use this data on a regular basis. He / she should be a self-driven learner with an effective communication style and strong project management skills.

  • University graduate with up to 2 years’ experience in a relevant professional environment (i.e. finance, accounting, consulting, etc.)

  • Professional financial qualification, such as CPA, CFA and/or mix of any prior relevant experience.

Personal qualities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Office Suite.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with all employees

  • Extremely high attention to detail and strong quality control practice

  • Ability to adapt rapidly to an evolving business

  • A passion for crunching numbers and finding insights in data

  • Proficient working with data in Excel, including building out streamlined formulas and clean excel templates

  • Support mindset (back-office)

  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and willingness to take on a variety of challenging projects

  • Bilingual: English and French are essential
