Pierre McMaster has more than 20 years of experience in the high technology industry.

Prior to joining Novacap in 2006, Mr. McMaster was Partner and CEO of Shiva, an Intel spin-off that specialized in Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and security products; he restructured Shiva and later sold it to Eicon.

His previous industry experience includes working from 1983 to 1985 at Future Electronics, a leading electronic component distribution company where he started a computer product division. In 1985, he became Sales Manager for Eastern Canada for Tracan Electronics, a board level distributor that experienced a 250% sales growth from 1985 to 1988. In 1988, Mr. McMaster became Co-founder and Vice-President of Sales at Teknor, an early pioneer in industrial computer products that had a successful IPO in 1996. After obtaining financing from 3i, they bought the industrial computer division of BMW and later became Kontron A.G. The company completed over 20 acquisitions and went public on the Neuer Mark in 2000. The company currently generates 400M € in sales and has over 2000 employees.

Mr. McMaster obtained a BSEE from Université de Montreal/Polytechnique in 1982.
