Alain Bélanger has more than 25 years of experience in managing high tech companies and has been involved with Novacap since 1999.
After graduating from l’École Polytechnique de Montréal as an Electrical Engineer, in 1984, Mr. Bélanger spent nine years with Matrox Electronic Systems Inc. which grew to become a leader in graphics processor cards and chips for PCs. He ultimately oversaw all of the company’s software development and marketing activities for graphic products.
In 1992, he joined the management team of ABL Canada Inc., a developer of network equipment for the then-emerging optical communication market, ultimately serving as Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. He has been with Novacap since 1999 and focused on ICT investments.
Mr. Bélanger is Chairman of the Board of Tenrox and Technomedia and a board member of Octasic, LiquidxStream, Ryma, Creaform and CorActive. He also serves on the board of the Université de Montréal/Poly/HEC Entrepreneurship Centre, a non-profit organization seeking to foster entrepreneurship skills within the University of Montreal’s student body.
